God's Comfort
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)
Reflection
God is described as the Father of compassion and the God of ALL comfort. His comfort is not limited to certain situations—it extends to all our troubles. And His comfort has a purpose beyond our own relief: it equips us to comfort others. Your pain, when touched by God's comfort, becomes a ministry to those who suffer similarly.
Prayer Focus
Father of compassion, thank You for Your comfort that meets me in every trouble. Heal my wounds and soothe my sorrows. And as You comfort me, prepare me to be a comfort to others. Use my experiences to minister to those who are hurting. Amen.
